24 year-old woman who sexually molested a 3-year old girl sentenced to prison(photos)

A woman who sexually assaulted a three-year-old girl and sent images of the abuse to a man has been warned she faces a long jail sentence.

Sadie Annette Morris was convicted of one count of assault by penetration of a girl under 13 and distributing three indecent images of the child, on what the judge said was 'overwhelming evidence.'

As the 24-year-old from Barwell in Leicester was found guilty, the mother of her victim shouted: 'I hope you rot in jail'.

Leicester Crown Court heard the offences took place between July 1 and 31 last year with the photographs involving one category A image - the most serious level - one B and one C.

Officers seized the Blackberry phone belonging to the man who received the images, and prosecutor Ian Way said some of the pictures showed a woman appearing to be Morris, naked and engaging in sex acts with the girl.

He said Morris was identified from a distinctive rose tattoo which was on the abuser's body.

Judge Nicholas Dean QC said the case involved a breach of trust, adding: 'One of the worrying factors here is she hasn't faced up to what she did, in the face of overwhelming evidence.'

The judge added that although it was not used in evidence, the three-year-old had said something to her mother that was 'consistent with the defendant having abused her.'

The defendant had no previous convictions although had once received a reprimand 'involving a not dissimilar type of activity,' said Judge Dean.

He told Morris: 'The jury has convicted you unanimously of these offences.

'Assault by penetration of a child under 13 is a very serious offence; you no doubt knew that, you're not unintelligent.

'It's likely you'll serve a long term of imprisonment.'

During the trial, the court heard how Morris had sent to random strangers indecent images of herself - in explicit poses and performing sex acts upon herself.

Those images and three illegal photographs she had taken of the youngster were also sent to a man in North Wales, via her Blackberry phone.
