Soldier who was about to marry sooner this years dies in the training field(photo)
A soldier who was due to marry later this year has died during an Army training exercise in the Brecon Beacons on the hottest day of the year.
Joshua Hoole, who was in The Rifles regiment, got into trouble in the Welsh hills as temperatures soared to more than 25C yesterday morning.
The corporal, from Ecclefechan, near Lockerbie, was taking part in a training course ahead of a bid to become a sergeant.
The 26-year-old, who was based in Catterick, North Yorkshire, has served two tours of Afghanistan and was due to marry his long-term girlfriend Rachael McKie later this year.
The tragedy comes three years after three reservists died during an SAS selection exercise in the same hills on the hottest day of 2013.
