The West Africa Examination Council WAEC 2017 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) has released the Results for School Candidates that sat for 2017/2018 May/June WASSCE exam on Monday, 17th July 2017, with the result an advancement over 2016 WAEC result.

According to him, out of the total number of candidates that sat the examination, 1,471,151 (One Million Four Hundred and Seventy One Thousand One Hundred and Fifty One) candidates, representing 94.36% have their results fully processed and released, while 95,734 (Ninety Five Thousand Seven Hundred and Thirty Four) candidates, representing 5.64% have a few of their subjects still being processed due to errors traceable to the candidates in the course of registration or writing the examination.

He mentioned that a total of 923,486 (Nine Hundred and Twenty Three Thousand Four Hundred and Eighty Six) candidates, representing 59.22%, obtained minimum of credits in five (5) subjects and above, including English Language and Mathematics.

He observed that 59.22%, percent performance of candidates that obtained five (5) credits and above including English Language and Mathematics in the WASSCE for School Candidates represents an improvement to the result in 2015 and 2016 which was 38.68% and 52.97%, respectively.

However, the results of 214,952 (Two Hundred and Fourteen Thousand, Nine Hundred and Fifty Two) candidates, representing 13.79% of the total candidature for the examination are being withheld for further investigation in connection with various cases of examination malpractice.

He advised candidates who sat the examination to check the details of their performance on the Council’s official website within the next few hours with the result checker PIN and Serial Number which are contained on the flip side of the candidates’ CIVAMPENS Card issued to all candidates by WAEC.
Procedure For Checking 2017/2018 WAEC Result
first, you need to get a scratch card which contains your pin and serial number (Candidates who have the plastic ID card from WAEC should ignore this.The PIN and Serial number for checking their result is embeddded in the plastic card, which was part of what they paid for during registration ) from a business centre or cyber cafe.Use the PIN and Serial number to login to waec website and click on 2017/2018 waec result to check your result.
Use the following step by step guidelines to check your 2017/2018 waec result :
1. Use your mobile phone or computer to visit www.waecdirect.org
2. Choose your exam type eg : WAEC May/June , WAEC GCE Nov/Dec
3.Choose the year you wrote the exam eg ; 2017/2018
4. Scratch your waec card, then enter the PIN from the card eg ; 635944444685493
5. Enter the serial number eg ; WRV27397467
6. Type in your examination number eg; 4053107008
7.Click on submit button and wait for your result to come up

The 2017 June/July results of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) were released on Wednesday, July 18, 2017.
ReplyDeleteThe examinations body announced that it withheld the results of 137,295 candidates, representing 8.89 per cent of those who took the examinations.
This, according to Olu Adenipekun, the Head, Nigeria National Office, was due to examination malpractice.
“The cases are being investigated and reports of the investigations will be presented to the appropriate committee of the Council in due course for consideration,” he said.
The exams body said that of the 1, 552, 758 students who sat for the June/July exams, 878,040 candidates, representing 52.97 per cent, obtained credits in five (5) subjects and above, including English Language and Mathematics.
“A total of 1,014,573 candidates, representing 65.70 per cent obtained six credits and above, 1,167,484 candidates, representing 75.60 per cent obtained five credits and above. While 1,282,204 candidates, representing 83.03 per cent obtained credit and above in four subjects,” it said.
“1,370,049 candidates, representing 88.72 per cent obtained credit and above in three subjects, 1,438,679 candidates, representing 93.16 per cent obtained credit and above in two subjects,” he said.
