A mere four-year-old girl has ended up dead by mistake while she was searching for sweets in her granny’s purse and pulling a gun’s trigger.
The four-year-old girl killed herself in a tragic accident after reaching into her gran’s purse for sweets.
Yanelly Zoller is a four-year-old American girl who killed herself in a tragic accident after reaching into her gran’s purse for sweets and instead pulling the trigger of a gun.
According to The Sun UK, Yanelly Zoller, nicknamed Nelly by her family, was pronounced dead from a single gunshot wound to the chest after the accident on September 14.
The little girl had been at the home of her grandparents, Michael and Christie, in Tampa, Florida, and was going to be picked up by her young father Shane later that afternoon for a trip to the local pool.
Shane Zoller, aged only 22, told the Tampa Bay Times that Yanelly was looking in the purse because “she just wanted some damn candy.”
The doting father only discovered the tragedy when he pulled up at his parent’s house to collect Yanelly.
“I was driving to pick her up with her bathing suit in my car to take her to the splash pads,” Shane said.
“When I pulled up, that’s when I saw all the police lights.”
A police spokesperson described the case as “a tragic accident.”
Still in high school when Yanelly was born, Shane said that if his parents had not helped him care for his daughter, he would have been forced to abandon his education.
Speaking of his daughter’s close bond to her grandparents, Shane added that Yanelly was “extremely close to them and would get so excited when she got to stay at her nana’s house.
“She was attached to her nana’s hip.”
The family are now crowd funding to raise money for Yanelly’s funeral, describing her as “our little angel.”
