Europa League draw : Checkout Europa quartetr final match up
The Europa League is down to the final eight teams. The first legs of the matches will be played on April 13, followed by the second legs a week later on April 20. The ultimate prize is in sight, which extends beyond just a trophy. Remember: The winner of the Europa League gets a spot in next year's Champions League.
Here are all the matchups.
Celta Vigo vs. Genk
Celta handled FC Krasnodar with ease into the quarterfinals on a 4-1 aggregate score. Genk put a hurt on Gent in the first leg of their round of 16 tie with a 5-2 walloping, then saw out a 1-1 draw in the return leg to advance.
Lyon vs. Besiktas
Besiktas will have their hands full with prolific Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette in the quarterfinals. Lyon's striker scored in the round of 16 and has 22 goals in Ligue 1. Traveling to the Vodafone Arena is never easy, though. Just ask Olympiacos, who fell 4-1 in Turkey in the second leg of their tie.
Ajax vs. Schalke
Schalke saw off Gladbach in their all-Bundesliga round of 16 tie. Ajax mounted a 2-0 rally to advance after falling 2-1 in the first leg in Copenhagen. The trip to Ajax will be a homecoming of sorts for Schalke striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. He played two years there from 2006-08.
Anderlecht vs. Manchester United
After seeing off FC Rostov, United will visit Anderlecht in the first leg of their quarterfinal tie. Both sides scored an away goal in the previous round, something they'll likely be keen to do in the quarters.
