SIMONE URGES RIVERS UNITED TO FORGET ABOUT REAL BAMAKO WIN
The Pride of Rivers recorded a big win in the Caf Champions League, but the striker wants his charges to forget about that result and focus on the Masu Gida
Rivers United striker, Bolaji Simone wants to put their Caf Champions League win against Mali outfit, Real Bamako behind as they get ready to face Kano Pillars.
The former Abia Warriors striker admitted that the four-time Nigerian champions boast good players who rank high in the Nigerian league.
United romped to a 4-0 win over Malian side, Real Bamako over the weekend, but Simone is now fully focused on Pillars.
"Right now our target is to continue with a win on Wednesday when we host Kano Pillars," Simone told Goal.
"The big win against Real Bamako is now in the past and we are targeting yet another one against Kano Pillars here in Port Harcourt."
"I know that Kano Pillars have many good players who rank amongst the best in Nigeria but my team, Rivers United will be too strong to handle because I believe in every player and our mentality here; we fight to the end.
"We don't just give up. It will not be easy but we are going to fight to the end and get our result which is the most important thing."
