A 64-year-old Manchester United fan has died after collapsing during their victory over West Ham. Tributes were made via social media on Tuesday morning after United confirmed that one of their supporters had passed away at London Stadium.


He is thought to have been taken ill as Jose Mourinho’s side went about winning a sixth consecutive game.

‘Everyone at Manchester United is deeply saddened following news one of our fans passed away after collapsing at yesterday’s game v West Ham,’ a United statement read.

London Stadium 185 chief executive Linda Lennon said: ‘We are deeply saddened to learn of the sudden passing of a Manchester United supporter following yesterday’s Premier League fixture.

‘All at London Stadium would like to offer their sympathies and condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, and to thank all those staff members, including those members of the medical team involved, for their tireless efforts to save the supporter’s life.’
