Police Arrest Hawker For Kidnapping 3-Year-Old Boy, Selling Him For N450,000

The Police in Imo State has arrested a banana hawker for allegedly kidnapping a three-year-old
boy and selling him for N450,000.

It was gathered that the hawker, Chibuzor Eze was close to the family of the victim who hails from Umuifa village in Oru-East Local Government Area of the state.

It was learnt that the victim was playing at around 8am when Eze kidnapped him and took him to Owerri.

The kidnapped was botched after a villager who saw the victim with her raised an alarm.

She allegedly sold him to a man who paid her N150,000 upfront and promised to give her the balance later.

The family of the boy while reacting expressed surprise at hawker’s action who they considered family.

Police Public Relations Officer in Imo State, Andrew Enwerem, said he had yet to be briefed on the matter.
