Man Uses An Excavator To Rob Bank In Broad Daylight On Christmas Day. Photos

A man in south China, who opted for a rather big entrance when attempting to rob a bank, ended up in police custody after his plan, predictably, went haywire.

The 29-year-old suspect, identified by his surname Luo, rode an excavator in broad daylight as he tried to break into a branch of China Construction Bank in the city of Meizhou, south China’s Guangdong Province, on Sunday morning.

He used the bucket of the excavator to smash the bank’s façade and crack the protective coiling gate.

Four automated teller machines were severely damaged in the process, according to the bank personnel, although no cash losses were reported.

Police were soon alerted and caught the man red handed. He admitted that he “wanted some money as the Spring Festival is approaching.” They are now trying to determine if the suspect is suffering from mental illness.

The bank outlet has suspended business due to property damages. Further investigation is underway
