Choi! That moment when a Zenith bank staff delivers baby in Aba market[read]

A female staff of one of the commercial banks in Aba, Abia State, Dominic Onyenweife, has miraculously delivered a baby girl at the popular Cemetery/Eziukwu market without the assistance of medical personnel. The owner of the yet- to- be completed five storey plaza where Onyenweife delivered the baby, Mr. Samuel Amadike, happily offered to sponsor the education of the new born to university level. Amadike described the birth of the child as good omen to his family. He wondered what the story could have been if the mother or the child had lost their lives during labour. ”I thank God that the mother and the child are alive. I was told about the good news and when I came, I asked that the mother and the baby be taken to any hospital for proper medical examination. But the nurses who were later called by my friends certified her fit after administering her some injections and that was when I had to let them go home. And just like I said initially, I am going to take the full responsibility of training her academically and I am going to name this plaza after the name of this baby,” Amadike said at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Onyenwife. Members of Cemetery market said it was the first time such a thing was happening in the history of the market. Chief Cletus Obi, one of the market executives, said: “I was in my shop when I got a call about what is happening and by the time I could get to that place, she had put to bed. The condition was so sudden that there is nothing that could be done than to take her into the building where she surprisingly delivered under the staircase with little or no assistance. And after her delivery, we got brought in some health personnel who examined and certified her fit before she was allowed to go home with her baby.” Husband of the new mother, Mr. Dominic Onyenweife, said his wife whose delivery date was due was on her way to Zenith Bank, Eziukwu branch where she works as a cleaner to take permission from her bosses ahead of her child’s delivery. Mrs. Onyenweife said she was inside a commercial tricycle to her office when she had some sensation. Before she noticed what was happening, she said the baby’s head had started coming out. She said she screamed for help and was taken to the plaza where she was safely delivered of the baby. Mrs. Onyewife, who was still overwhelmed with joy, thanked the owner of the plaza for coming to the rescue of the family.
