According to a report by Punch, Nigeria’s sprinter and 5-time African Junior Champion, Ejowvokoghene Oduduru, on Tuesday, kept the country’s hope of a medal in athletics at the Rio Olympics alive after qualifying for the semifinals in the men’s 200m event.

The 19-year-old clocked 20.34sec behind Usain Bolt who won in 20.28s. The young sprinter has promised to make the country proud by beating Jamaican superstar, who holds the record in both 100m and 200m respectively.

Bolt took another step in his quest for an unprecedented sprint “triple triple” when he safely negotiated the first round of the 200m.
